Every day that is not a Wednesday in August, I will be offering something as a prompt for writing in honor of CampNaNo. For the second week, these will be inquiries into whatever you’re writing right now, taking a closer look at the characters.
Don’t forget about the little people! Your novel has a protagonist (at least one) and an antagonist (again, at least one). But there is also a small army of supporting cast there to help your characters achieve their goals. Pick three of those characters and talk about why they are important to the story, and why the story wouldn’t move forward in the same way if they were removed.
Your task is to write something–ANYTHING!–based on this prompt. Whether it is 100 words or a thousand, or even the inspiration for a new novel or story, all I want you to do is write. And if you do write, and are comfortable posting it online, please post to your own blog and link to the comments here or on Facebook, or you can post directly into the comments or on my wall!
