Harmony Ink!

I promised news, and here it is: Harmony Ink Press said YES to If We Shadows.

I signed the contract today, for a proposed release date of March/April 2014. You have no idea how incredibly excited I am about this. There will be a simultaneous release of both trade paperback and ebook (yes! hard copy! libraries, if I’m lucky!).

Keep an eye here for more news and information about the book. I’m super excited to work with Harmony Ink. They are a press for positive YA LGBTQ literature, which is a wonderfully perfect fit.

If We Shadows is the story of a transgender boy who wants to finish out his senior year of high school without calling attention to himself. It is also a story of first love, theater, Shakespearean drama, and fairy magic. I hope readers will love Jordan as much as I do.

About D. E. Atwood

When D.E. Atwood was in second grade, she finally grew tall enough to see the shelf above the mysteries in the bookmobile. She discovered a rich landscape of alternate worlds, magic, and space and has never looked back from the genres of fantasy and science fiction. When she was twelve, she declared that she was going to be a writer, and share the stories that she saw happening all around her. She wanted to create characters that others would care about, and that would touch their lives, like the books that she read had touched her own life. Today she has combined her interests, creating genre stories about the people who live next door, bringing magic into the world around us. When not writing, D.E. Atwood is a mother (to two children and a cat), a wife, a reader, a knitter, a systems administrator, a roleplayer, and a music aficionado. Sleep, she claims, is optional.

I have the actual blurb! I’ve been meaning to post it for a week now, but just haven’t had time to do so. I need to get that posted, write up something on TKD metaphors for life, and also I’m coordinating a guest blog upcoming soon.

Thank you for your support! It is hugely appreciated. I hope you like the book when it comes out.
